The Ministry of Ecology has not recorded an excess of exhaust gas concentrations in Krasnogorsk. The reason for additional studies of atmospheric air quality was the appeals of residents of the district, who suspected that the maximum permissible concentration of pollutants contained in automobile exhausts were exceeded in the air. This is stated in the message of the ministry.

Mobile laboratories of the State Institution "Mosoblekomonitoring" were sent to the city, which took air samples on Sovetskaya, Pavshinskaya streets and in Uvarovsky Lane.

"Air quality was analyzed for 15 major pollutants," said Tikhon Firsov, Minister of Ecology and Nature Management of the Moscow Region, quoted in the message. – At the same time, the selection was carried out in weather conditions that do not contribute to dispersion. No exceedances of the MPC have been detected, but we will conduct control measurements in the near future."

According to experts, the reason for complaints may be the fact that the threshold for detecting the smell of a number of pollutants is significantly lower than the hygienic standards for the quality of atmospheric air.

T. Firsov also recalled that today three stationary observation posts and an automated air quality control station have been installed in Krasnogorsk.
