The Ministry of Economic Development expects annual inflation at the end of December at 5.8%. This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, presenting at a meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation a medium-term forecast of the country's socio-economic development, developed as part of the preparation of the federal budget for 2022-2024, according to the message of the Ministry of Economic Development.

This forecast is slightly above the minimum level of the base scenario of the Bank of Russia and is based on the prerequisites of a stable ruble, continued seasonal decline in prices for vegetables and fruits due to a normal harvest, stabilization of gasoline prices, effective operation of the damping mechanisms launched this year.

At the same time, external risks remain for the forecast for the current year – the renewed growth in world food prices at the end of August, increased global inflation, " M. Reshetnikov warned.

The Minister drew attention to the fact that the indexation of the total payment of citizens for utilities remains at the previously agreed level and will not exceed 4%. Thus, regulated tariffs will serve as a kind of" anchor "for inflation and will restrain it," M. Reshetnikov said.
