The volume of trade turnover between Russia and Pakistan in 2023 exceeded $1 billion for the first time. Exports amounted to $782 million, imports – $289 million. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Transport following the meeting of Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zverev with Ambassador of Pakistan Mumhammad Khalid Jamali, where an increase in trade turnover between the two countries was noted.
The participants of the meeting stressed their interest in the development of the international North–South transport corridor.
The parties also confirmed their mutual interest in joining the Memorandum of Understanding on the creation and development of the Belarus–Russia–Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan –Afghanistan–Pakistan international transport corridor.
In addition, the participants of the meeting confirmed their interest in signing memoranda of cooperation in the field of railway transport and in the field of transport and transit.
