The volume of the monetary base as of May 19, 2023 amounted to 17593.6 billion rubles (+73.2 billion rubles, +0.4%) compared to the indicator as of May 12. This was announced by the Department of External and Public Relations of the Bank of Russia.
The monetary base in a narrow definition includes cash issued by the Bank of Russia (taking into account the balances of funds in the cash desks of credit institutions) and balances on the accounts of mandatory reserves for funds attracted by credit institutions in national currency deposited with the Bank of Russia.
