Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved an experiment to defer VAT payments for importers. The deferral will be granted for up to 3 months from the date of release of the goods. The relevant decree has been published on the portal of legal acts.
Legal entities included in the register of authorized economic operators or in the list of backbone companies can participate in the experiment.
Companies that will be able to participate in the experiment should, in particular, apply a general taxation regime, they should not have arrears in the payment of customs duties, duties and interest, as well as fines.
Bankruptcy cases should not be considered in an arbitration court against these companies, and criminal cases should not be initiated against their managers, which are being investigated by the customs authorities.
