Wizz Air UK resumes flights connecting Pulkovo and London

Low-cost air carrier Wizz Air UK plans to resume the regular flights connecting St. Petersburg and London (Luton) from August 19, 2020, the press service of Pulkovo airport informed.

Flights will be carried out up to four times a week.

Pulkovo Airport is the fourth biggest airport of Russia providing services to 29 foreign, 30 Russian and 12 CIS airlines carrying out regular flights. Northern Capital Gateway LLC (NCG) has been managing the airport since April 29, 2010 and implementing a reconstruction and development project under a public-private partnership scheme. In 2019, the airport served more than 19 million passengers.

In 2019, the passenger traffic at Pulkovo airport increased by 8.1% year-on-year to 19.581 million. The passenger flow on domestic air routes increased by 9.8% to 12.111 million. The number of international passengers increased by 5.3% to 7.47 million. Pulkovo served 168,572 take-off and landing operations, which is 1.9% above the 2018 level.

Wizz Air is the largest low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe. The company's fleet consists of 122 Airbus A320 and A321 airliners.
