The branch of PJSC Rosseti – MES of the North-West has installed 18 modern high-voltage inputs at the 330 kV Vostochnaya substation – one of the main power centers of the city of St. Petersburg. The modernization has improved the reliability of power supply to the largest enterprises and residential quarters of St. Petersburg, as well as consumers of the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region.
Instead of inputs with paper-oil insulation, modern equipment with RIP insulation of domestic production is installed at the power facility, the advantage of which is high fire safety, reliability and a long service life of at least 30 years.
High–voltage inputs are an integral element of power substation equipment – transformers, autotransformers and shunt reactors, as well as switching switches. They are necessary for the output and connection of live parts to power lines and substation buses.
The 330 kV Vostochnaya substation with a capacity of 800 MVA is an active link in the energy ring of St. Petersburg and a system-forming object of the city and region participating in the power output of the Leningrad NPP, Kirishskaya GRES and North-Western CHP. The uninterrupted operation of the substation depends on the transmission of power to the power centers of Vyborg and Kamenogorsk, as well as the provision of electricity to socially significant and large industrial consumers, including the Electropult, Krasny Vyborzhets plants, the Arsenal machine-building plant, the Leningrad Metal Plant and the Mega Dybenko shopping complex.
