IC Absolut Insurance summed up the results of tick bite insurance activities in 2023

In 2023, more than 30 thousand people were insured against tick bite in the IC Absolut Insurance. The program was in the greatest demand in the Irkutsk and Novosibirsk regions. The insurer has received about 2.5 thousand requests from customers under the tick bite insurance program. Most often, insurance cases occurred in Siberia, the Far East and Karelia.

You can call this phone from anywhere in Russia. The client will be promptly sent to a medical facility, where a specialist will remove the tick, treat the bite site and, if necessary, prescribe a laboratory examination. In addition, the doctor will give recommendations on preventive treatment and tell you in which laboratory you can examine the extracted tick for the likelihood of infection with encephalitis," said the deputy head of the Department of underwriting and reinsurance of IC Absolut Insurance Mikhail Chernykh.

It should be remembered that medical care for a person should be provided no later than 72 hours after the tick bite. The more time passes from the moment of the bite, the higher the risk of blood infection with pathogens present in the tick's saliva, the most dangerous of them are tick–borne encephalitis and lyme borreliosis.
