Neural networks in Yandex Browser now checks the security of websites in real time and helps protect users from Internet scammers who try to steal their data through phishing sites. Instant site verification helps to track fraudulent resources, even if they have just been created and no one has visited them yet. Since the beginning of testing neural networks, Yandex Browser has identified more than 400 thousand fraudulent sites.

Neural networks embedded in the Browser check the site and, if it looks like a phishing site, run an additional check. Algorithms analyze hundreds of factors: for example, when the resource was created, how often it is visited, how much time is spent on it, how often it is returned, whether the site is searched for in the search and how it is accessed — directly or by link. At the same time, user data and text information from the page are not transmitted to the servers. If the site is really dangerous, Yandex Browser warns users that it is better not to visit it.

Neural networks also protect against new types of phishing that are constantly appearing. Recently, sites have become widespread that mimic the applications of banks and platforms for working with crypto exchanges that have disappeared from the stores.
