Rosselkhoznadzor records an increase in the volume of imports of fruits and berries to Russia

According to FGIS Argus-Phyto, as of November 1, 2024, compared with the same period last year, there is an increase in imports of fruit products and berries.

Thus, in general, fruit supplies to Russia from foreign countries increased by 8.3%. According to the results of 10 months of 2023, this figure was 4.6 million tons, and this year it is almost 5 million tons.

In particular, citrus fruits retain impressive volumes of imports. Compared to the same period last year, this year the import of these fruits increased by 16.8% from 1.1 million tons to 1.3 million tons.

Imports of sunflower seeds – apples, pears increased by 5.7% and amounted to 531.4 thousand tons against 502.8 thousand tons for the corresponding period of 2023.

Stone fruits – peaches, plums, cherries - were imported by 1.9% more compared to the same period last year — almost 721 thousand tons. In 2023, 707.4 thousand tons of stone fruits were delivered.

The import of berries and other fruits increased by 29.3% from 336.6 thousand tons to 435.3 thousand tons.

As for banana imports, the Rosselkhoznadzor does not observe a decrease in banana imports to Russia from foreign countries. About 1.4 million tons of bananas are imported to Russia annually.

Since the beginning of 2024, 1.16 million tons of bananas have been delivered to Russia, which is comparable to the volume of imports of these products for the same period in 2023.
