Gazprom Neft and ITMO University have organized an open championship for young specialists in artificial intelligence. The winners will receive an invitation to internships and work in projects of the Gazprom Neft IT cluster and its technology partners.
The task of the participants of the competition is to develop digital solutions based on machine learning that transform processes in the energy sector. During the tournament, specialists will compete to create MVP systems* that will be able to analyze complex industrial images and find critical anomalies or defects in them.
At the first stage, developers will need to select, test and train the best AI models based on a unique set of industrial data. Next– create an intuitive user interface for your IT solution. In the final, they will have to determine the most effective options for using the system in production.
The participants of the championship are young professionals, as well as students of 2-4 courses of universities, winners of case championships, hackathons and Olympiads in IT.
Competitions are suitable for a wide range of professions: Team Lead, AI/ML Specialist (Data Scientist), Backend Developer (Python), UI Designer, System Architect/ DevOps Engineer.
The championship is organized in a hybrid format: the online stage is from May 7 to May 21 and the in–person final is on May 28 in St. Petersburg. Registration takes place on the project's website until May 4.
* MVP is a minimally viable product, a test version with basic functionality.

ITMO University is a member of the Gazprom Neft University League, the company's system of interaction with higher education institutions from Russia and other countries. Thanks to it, the exchange of scientific and educational information between the participants takes place in a single window format. Such cooperation ensures the creation of new faculties, graduate schools, laboratories, and encourages the launch of joint research and grant programs. The League consists of 47 higher education institutions, in addition to representatives from Russia, two universities from India and China participate in it.
