PJSC Mosenergo is implementing a project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as a result of the modernization of power unit No. 9 at the N.I. Serebrynikov CHPP-22, completed in 2022. The aim of the project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from stationary fuel combustion by modernizing the power unit by increasing the efficiency of the boiler plant after upgrading and introducing the latest T—295/335-23.5 steam heating turbine.

The total amount of emissions reduction over the ten-year reference period of the climate project is more than 635 thousand tons of CO2.
As a result of the verification of the results of the implementation of the climate project for the first reporting period — 2023-2024 — 132,775 carbon units were released.

"The first emission of carbon units will allow Mosenergo to actively participate in the developing field of carbon recycling," said the Adviser on Sustainable Development and Investor Relations at PJSC GAZPROMMosenergo“ Denis Voronchikhin. "The company's traditionally attentive attitude to the environment is transformed into new opportunities and will allow Mosenergo to contribute to achieving the goals set out in the Climate Doctrine of the Russian Federation, approved by the President of the Russian Federation, as well as within the framework of Russia's National Projects."
