Consumer gasoline prices in Russia increased by 0.5 in January%

Consumer gasoline prices in Russia in January 2024 increased by 0.5% compared to December 2023. Producer prices increased by 0.2%. This was reported by Rosstat.

The change in consumer prices for automobile gasoline by 0.6% or more was noted in 37 regions of the Russian Federation, most notably in the Komi Republic (+2.5%). A decrease in prices for automobile gasoline was recorded in 12 regions of the Russian Federation. Most of all – in the Kamchatka Territory (-4%). In Moscow, over the past period, the price change for automobile gasoline amounted to +0.8%, in St. Petersburg +0.9%.

Producer prices for automobile gasoline on average have become 0.2% higher. Gasoline has become more expensive in 9 regions of the Russian Federation. Most of all, prices for it increased in the Saratov region – by 19.3%, the Nizhny Novgorod region – by 16.4%, the Perm Region – by 16.3%, the Irkutsk Region – by 15.7%, the Ryazan region – by 15.2%. The decrease in prices was noted in 8 regions of the Russian Federation, the largest in the Republic of Bashkortostan (-22.5%), Astrakhan Region (-19%), Tyumen Region (-16.9%), the Republic of Tatarstan and the Leningrad Region (-16.5%).

Consumer prices for automobile gasoline on average in the Russian Federation exceeded producer prices by 3.2 times. Producer prices for oil decreased (-8.6%), the change in tariffs for pumping it by pipeline amounted to +7.2%.
