Russia's Main Department of State Expertise (Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, the state expert appraisal body) has reviewed the design documentation and the results of engineering surveys for the construction of a gas processing plant and an LNG plant as part of the ethane-containing gas processing complex near Ust-Luga (Leningrad region). A positive opinion was given as a result of the review, the appraisal body informed.

The ethane-containing gas processing complex in Ust-Luga will become the most powerful gas processing facility in Russia, the largest gas processor in northwestern Europe in terms of LNG production.

The LNG production site will contain two processing lines, each having a design capacity of 6.5 million tonnes of LNG per year. The total capacity of the LNG plant is 13 million tonnes.
