In January 2024, the Russian engineering industry experienced growth for the eleventh month in a row. Total production in the five engineering industries was 29.3% higher than in January 2023. At the same time, compared with December, the growth rate of production increased significantly to November values. In general, according to Rosstat, in the first month of 2024, the total turnover of enterprises in all sectors of mechanical engineering increased significantly by 60.8% compared to the same period in 2023. Also in January 2024, Rosstat recorded a significant increase in industrial production in all five engineering sectors in annual dynamics. The production of electronics and motor vehicles increased at the fastest pace.
South Korea, following the EU, banned the supply of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles to Russia. The supply ban may create difficulties for the current operation of assembly sites of state-owned corporations in Russia that use Korean cells. However, the South Korean authorities may grant permits for supplies to certain organizations. Earlier, South Korea increased the list of goods to 1,159 items, for the export of which to Russia and Belarus it is necessary to obtain a special government permit. The "high probability" of using these items for military purposes is indicated as the reasons for the expansion of restrictions.
Rostselmash has opened a new tractor plant in Rostov-on-Don. The company became the first in the history of modern Russia to produce a full range of tractors. Total investments in the creation of production exceeded 13 billion rubles. The plant will produce up to 5 thousand units of equipment per year. Among them are wheeled and tracked tractors with capacities from 170 hp to 620 hp, as well as telescopic and front-end loaders and backhoe loaders. The localization level is up to 80%. The total area of the plant is 14 hectares, the production area is 62 thousand square meters. m.
KAMAZ PJSC is vested with the powers of the managing organization in relation to JSC Muromteplovoz.
