A package of draft laws on conducting an experiment on the retail remote sale of wine on the website of the Russian Post, developed by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, was approved at a meeting of the Russian Government. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance.
To date, the remote sale of alcohol is prohibited, the proposed experiment will allow to assess the effectiveness of state control over compliance with prohibitions and restrictions on the retail sale of alcohol in a new online format, as well as to work out the interaction of regulatory authorities.
The experiment is proposed to be conducted for three years, from November 1, 2023 to July 31, 2026, in Moscow and the Moscow Region. At the same time, the Government of the Russian Federation is empowered to expand its perimeter.
The experiment will involve producers of wine, sparkling wine, as well as fortified wine, who must ensure direct delivery of their products to consumers through the Russian Post. The list of producers should be compiled by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. Participation in the experiment is voluntary.
