The volume of supplies of Russian agricultural products and food to foreign markets in 2022 exceeded $ 40 billion. Exports since the beginning of the year are ahead of the figure for the same period last year by 20%. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reported.

Climate change may affect the development of export potential. The increase in average annual temperatures leads to an increase in the duration of the growing season, the emergence of the possibility of developing northern territories. Thus, Russia can increase its production base and export potential.

Another factor is the emergence of a system for limiting greenhouse gas emissions. Currently, 45 countries have developed national adaptation plans in the field of agriculture. This will have an impact on the terms of food trade both in the medium and long term.
