Advanced personal scholarships named after physicist Kamil Valiev for students and postgraduates will be established in Russia

The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia has prepared a draft resolution The Government of the Russian Federation on the establishment of personal scholarships named after scientist Kamil Valiev for students and postgraduates who have achieved significant achievements in the field of electronic industry. The amount of state support will be 55 thousand rubles for students and 75 thousand rubles for graduate students monthly.

From September 1, 2023, 50 students and 30 graduate students will receive personal scholarships. Full-time students in the second and subsequent courses of bachelor's and specialty programs, as well as in any master's degree course, can apply for such monthly encouragement. In addition, state support can be received by students in the programs of training scientific and scientific-technical personnel in graduate school. The main criterion for the selection of candidates is significant success in the field of electronic industry.

Kamil Valiev Personal Scholarships are established in order to implement the federal project "Training of Personnel and Scientific Foundation for the Electronic Industry". Currently, public discussions on the text of the draft document and an independent anti-corruption examination are taking place.

Kamil Akhmetovich Valiev is a Soviet and Russian physicist, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences and RAS, scientific director of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the RAS. He led the development and organization of industrial production of silicon integrated circuits for the complete set of Soviet computer equipment and defense systems. Today he is called one of the founders of the Russian scientific school in the field of microelectronics.
