Within the framework of the III International Transport Festival SPbTransportFest, GAZ Group presented a wide range of city buses that are distinguished by a high level of comfort and expand the accessible urban environment for passengers with disabilities. The exhibition takes place on Manezhnaya Square in St. Petersburg.

GAZ Group presents a line of urban transport that expands the accessible environment. A new generation of buses with a capacity from 22 to 85 people are on display at the exhibition: models of medium and large class GAZ CITYMAX, buses of small class "Valdai City" and "Gazelle City", as well as a car of medium class LiAZ-4292. Unified technical solutions ensure the availability of all presented models for passengers with limited mobility. These are a low entrance level, spacious storage areas with lumbar stops, specially equipped places for wheelchairs, wide doorways, as well as a "knilling" system that allows you to lower the height of the bus at stops.

Promising GAZ CITYMAX buses have received a stylish modern interior and exterior design and a single unified platform on which diesel, gas and electric buses will be produced. Enlarged doorways provide convenient entry and exit for passengers and allow for faster passenger exchange. The LED illumination on the door sashes warns about the closing of the doors by changing the color. A spacious storage area allows you to place several baby strollers at once or a wheelchair and a baby stroller at the same time. The large glazing area gives excellent visibility to the driver and passengers. Dual-zone climate control and an increased volume of air ducts make your stay in the bus comfortable in any weather. The cabin air conditioning system is equipped with an air disinfection function, which is especially important in a confined space and a large crowd of people in a complex epidemiological situation. Buses are equipped with USB chargers and a Wi-Fi router.

The new CITYMAX bus line is equipped with a scalable electronic on-board control system for continuous monitoring of vehicle operation. Buses are equipped with a driver assistance system, which includes a warning about an obstacle ahead, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning system, road sign recognition, adaptive lighting, turn illumination, automatic windscreen wipers.

In GAZ CITYMAX buses, a "clean floor" system is implemented, in which there are no fasteners on the floor, and all seats and handrails are attached to the sidewall of the body. Such a constructive solution allows for wide aisles between the rows of seats, expands the possibilities for creating various layout options and facilitates interior cleaning. The car body is made using lightweight and practical composite materials that are not subject to corrosion. Due to the use of innovative materials in GAZ CITYMAX buses, the noise level is significantly reduced.

CITYMAX 9 of the middle class is equipped with a domestic YAMZ-534 diesel engine. Thanks to the short wheelbase – only 5.8 m – the car has high maneuverability, the minimum turning radius is 8.8 m. The exhibition sample is designed to carry 73 passengers, including 17 seats. The bus has the largest low floor area in its class – 10 sq. m, almost twice the area of similar models from competitors.  The absence of a narrow inter-arched front passage makes it easier to move around the cabin, speed up passenger exchange and facilitate the observance of social distance. The car will be produced at the Pavlovsk Bus Plant of GAZ Group.

E-CITYMAX 12 is a new generation electric bus of a large class. The power plant of the machine complies with the international environmental standard Zero Emission, which is characterized by the complete absence of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The novelty received Microwast batteries of the NMC type with a capacity of 350 kWh and an increased power reserve of up to 200 km on a single charge. The E-CITYMAX 12 electric bus has the ability to charge batteries in three ways: ultra-fast pantograph in 1.5 hours, fast pistol in 2.5 hours and night in 7 hours. The batteries are equipped with an autonomous temperature control system, which automatically cools the batteries in summer and warms them up to the optimal operating temperature in winter, which allows you to stabilize the power reserve of the electric bus throughout the battery life. The total passenger capacity of the E-CITYMAX 12 is 85 passengers, 36 seats and one wheelchair space are provided. The E-CITYMAX 12 bus will be produced at the Likinsky Bus Plant of GAZ Group.

"Valdai City" is a promising model of the Pavlovsk Bus Plant, designed for urban and suburban transportation. Functionally, the new car is a development of the concept first implemented during the production of the Gazelle City bus, which entered the market in the summer of 2020. This is a small class bus with a low floor level, a spacious storage area in the central part of the cabin, a wide door and the possibility of lowering the entrance level at stops. Compared to GAZelle City, Valdai has an increased passenger capacity: it is designed to transport 32 people, including 21 seats. At the same time, small dimensions and a small turning radius, which is only 7.1 m, provide excellent maneuverability. The air suspension ensures softness and smooth running even on uneven roads. A wide central aisle and a high ceiling facilitate the movement of passengers around the cabin. A full-fledged luggage compartment located in the rear overhang allows you to use the bus for suburban transportation.

The Gazelle City minibus, manufactured at the Gorky Automobile Plant of GAZ Group, is designed to operate on urban routes with low passenger traffic. Passenger capacity – 22 people. A distinctive feature of the model is the original frame with a drop in the central part. The bus is equipped with a rear axle of increased load capacity (4.6 tons) with disc brakes. The use of pneumatic rear suspension has significantly increased the smoothness of the machine. A small luggage compartment located in the rear overhang allows you to keep the necessary additional equipment and tools in quick access. The design of the car includes solutions that provide comfortable travel for low-mobility groups of the population. This is a low floor level, a spacious storage area in the central part of the cabin, a pneumatic system for lowering the height of the floor at stops, a wide double door with an electric drive.

LiAZ-4292 is a low–floor city bus of the middle class, produced at the Likinsky Bus Factory, designed to transport 68-75 people, depending on the layout of the cabin. It is equipped with a YAMZ diesel engine and an automatic transmission. The electronic suspension control function allows you to raise and lower the bus to overcome difficult sections of the route or to ensure the convenience of entering/exiting at stops.
