ECE 30 March 2023 21:03 A meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk with the participation of members of the EEC Council and Chairman of the EEC Board Mikhail Myasnikovich took place in Moscow in an online format on March 30.

The effect of the increased threshold for duty-free import of goods for individuals has been extended for another six months. Thus, until October 1 of this year, the threshold for duty-free import of goods for individuals will be 1,000 euros and 31 kg for goods transported by the carrier or in mail, imported by baggage by all modes of transport, except air, or on foot.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to grant a tariff exemption in the form of duty-free import of raw cane sugar in the period up to December 31, 2023. Sugar imported to the Republic of Belarus in the amount of no more than 100 thousand tons, to the Republic of Kazakhstan – in the amount of no more than 350 thousand tons, to the Kyrgyz Republic – in the amount of no more than 50 thousand tons and to the Russian Federation – in the amount of no more than 100 thousand tons is exempt from import customs duty.

At the suggestion of the Kazakh side, the Rules for confirming the country of origin for public procurement purposes have been supplemented with new production conditions.

The issue "On the draft Protocol on amendments to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014 regarding the provision of financial assistance in the implementation by the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union of joint cooperation projects in industries" was considered. The draft amendments to the Treaty on the EAEU in terms of providing financial assistance in the implementation of joint cooperation projects in industries will be directed to the domestic procedures necessary for its signing.

The cases of regulating the circulation of medical devices in accordance with national legislation have been clarified.

Amendments have been made to the technical regulations "On the safety of railway transport infrastructure".

A draft agreement on mutual recognition of bank guarantees for public procurement has been approved.
