Rosseti FGC UES (PJSC FGC UES) has completed the modernization of the largest power supply center in the industrial south of Kuzbass – the 500 kV Novokuznetsk substation. The project made it possible to increase the connection capacity of the SUEK mining enterprises from 60 MW to 123 MW and significantly reduce the risks of large-scale technological disruptions.

In the course of the work, modern devices for transmitting emergency signals and commands (UPASC) of Russian production were installed. The new microprocessor-based complexes, in the event of an emergency situation in the power grid, provide instant transmission of control commands to the 220 kV Sokolovskaya substation owned by SUEK. This reduces the risk of damage to power grid equipment and the development of emergency situations.

The 220 kV Sokolovskaya substation, whose capacity is two transformers of 125 MVA each, provides power supply to the V.D. Yalevsky mine, Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya-1, Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya-2, Zarechny, Zarechny-Severny, Kamyshansky sections in the Prokopyevsky district of the Kemerovo region.

The 500 kV Novokuznetsk substation with a capacity of 1,602 MVA participates in the power supply of large industrial enterprises and the second most populous city of Kuzbass – Novokuznetsk with a population of more than 540,000 people.
