From September 1 to September 8, 2026, the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Republic of Dagestan at the Viaduk temporary storage warehouse monitored the import of more than 9 thousand tons of plant products on 500 vehicles from Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan.
In particular, 16.3 tons of peppers, 40 tons of peaches, 20 tons of plums and 10 tons of lettuce were imported.
During the implementation of quarantine phytosanitary control, 2 types of quarantine objects were identified in 5 shipments: eastern fruit beetle in shipments of peaches and plums, western flower thrips in shipments of peppers and lettuce. This was confirmed by laboratory findings of the Dagestan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIKR" subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor. The total volume of infected products amounted to more than 86 tons.
The contaminated products were sent for quarantine phytosanitary disinfection (fumigation). After it and repeated laboratory conclusions, the product was allowed to enter free circulation.
