Belgian IT company Agfa Gevaert NV has signed an agreement with an American investment company Siris on combining Agfa Digital Printing Solutions' digital printer business with Electronics for Imaging Inc. (EFI) to create a large company for the production of industrial inkjet printers. This is reported in a press release from Agfa Gevaert.

Upon closing of the deal, Agfa Gevaert will own 40% of the shares of the combined company, and Siris — 60%. In addition, Siris will purchase 19.1% of Agfa shares from the largest shareholder of Active Ownership Capital Sarl.

At the same time, the total value of the combined business will exceed $1 billion. The transaction is expected to be completed at the end of 2026, subject to the usual closing conditions.

As part of the deal, the companies will combine EFI Nozomi, VUTEK, and Reggiani platforms with Agfa DPS's Jeti TAURO, Offset PANTHERA, and SpeedSet ORCA platforms to serve customers in 100 countries, building on geographic advantages in North America and Europe, as well as a global sales and service network.

In 2019, Siris acquired EFI for $1.7 billion. The deal is a continuation of the global partnership concluded by Agfa Gevaert and EFI in 2024, in which they expanded their product range through access to complementary technologies.
