Ruschem may sell the entire gas production business to Zarubezhneft. The newspaper Kommersant writes about this.
Rushim has decided to change the scheme of providing raw materials for its future methanol production plant with a capacity of 1.8 million tons. Previously, it was planned to sell 50% plus one share in holders of licenses for fields with reserves of about 200 billion cubic meters of gas, but now Ruschem is ready to completely exit the production business. According to Kommersant, the assets may be transferred to Zarubezhneft, which in 2024 agreed to buy out half of the companies.
Thus, Rushim intends to fully sell its structures holding licenses for the Kumzhinskoye and Korovinskoye gas fields in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The reserves of Kumzhinsky and Korovinsky are about 200 billion cubic meters. These deposits should become the resource base for the future Ruschem complex with a capacity of 1.8 million tons of methanol per year. Investments in the plant were estimated at more than 200 billion rubles. Vitaly Yuzhilin owns 50% of Rushim Management Company (50%), Dmitry Ozersky and Maria Mirgorodskaya's Metropolitan Trust Company have 25% each.
