On October 23, 2026, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia decided to keep the rate at 14% per annum. This is stated in the message of the regulator.
The economy is growing at a moderate pace in the second half of 2026. The current price pressure remains elevated. Inflation expectations remain high, the Central Bank emphasizes.
The steady increase in prices, according to the regulator, is not decreasing and is in the range of 5-6% per year, primarily due to the impact of temporary reduction of production capacity in certain industries.
According to the Bank of Russia, this requires a restrained growth in aggregate demand in order to resume the decline in stable inflation.
