The Government of the Russian Federation has expanded the possibilities of delivering electricity to the grid by microgeneration facilities. This is reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
In accordance with the approved legal acts, the maximum capacity that microgeneration facilities can supply to the electric grid has been increased to 50 kW for individuals, and up to 150 kW for legal entities, sole proprietors and apartment buildings. Previously, the maximum volume of electricity supply to the grid for all consumers was no more than 15 kW.
The Cabinet of Ministers also amended the rules for technological connection to electric networks and the procedure for using common property in apartment buildings. The amendments were adopted pursuant to Law No. 208-FZ of June 26, 2026. The law gave the Government the authority to set capacity limits that microgeneration facilities can supply to the general grid, and also lifted restrictions on the use of microgeneration in apartment buildings in terms of the common property of the owners.
