Paramount Skydance Corp. intends to change the name to Skydance after the completion of the deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. This is reported by foreign media with reference to Paramount CEO David Ellison.
According to D. Ellimon, "the combined company should acquire its own identity, while leaving the brands Paramount and Warner Bros. in the spotlight."
The deal, worth $110 billion, is scheduled to be completed in mid-October 2026, taking into account the settlement agreement on the antitrust lawsuit filed by a group of 12 state attorneys general, which provides for a number of stringent requirements for Paramount.
In particular, Paramount is committed to releasing 30 films per year in theaters for the first two years after the acquisition of Warner Bros. and to increase this number to 32 films per year during the third, fourth and fifth years after the closing of the deal. In case of default, Paramount will pay $30 million for each film in favor of healthcare and retirement benefits for employees of the entertainment industry.
Paramount management expects that in 2026 the combined company's revenue will amount to $69 billion with net debt obligations of $79 billion. Paramount plans to raise $54 billion from Bank of America, Citigroup and Apollo Global Management Inc.
