Volzhsky Pipe Plant (VTZ) TMK expanded the scope of industrial waste application as part of a joint project with the Volga Polytechnic Institute, which is a branch of the Volgograd State Technical University. This is stated in the company's message.

The company has developed a number of technological solutions. VTZ provided VPI with several types of industrial waste in order to create new ways to recycle them, including fine gas purification dust containing iron particles. Based on it, a sorption material containing magnetic particles was developed at the VPI. It can be applied to the surface of water contaminated with fuel oil, and then pulled out with a magnet, lifting up to 1 ton of the mixture with petroleum products.

The method has passed the expertise of the Ministry of Education and Science. Representatives of the VPI research team went to eliminate an emergency oil spill in the Krasnodar Territory.

Also, various types of industrial waste from the high-tech plant were used in scientific and practical developments to obtain compositions for repairing road surfaces, restoring small architectural forms, and improving fillers of adhesive materials. Previously, these types of waste were located at the industrial waste landfill of the VTZ.

TMK is an industrial engineering company, supplier of pipe solutions, structural materials and related services. TMK shares are traded on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
