The creative cluster "Radar Sikhote" has opened in Vladivostok. 13 residents working in the field of design, advertising, souvenir production, cinema, photography and media have joined forces on a site with an area of more than 1 thousand square meters. The cluster creates conditions for the cooperation of specialists from different fields and the implementation of joint projects. The Ministry of Regional Development of Russia and the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (Far East Development Corporation) are taking part in the work on the development of creative industries in the Far Eastern Federal District.
"The creative sector of the Far East is a significant part of the macroregion's economy. It employs 5.1 thousand small and medium-sized businesses, which provide 71 thousand jobs. The development of creative infrastructure helps entrepreneurs combine competencies, find partners, and create in-demand products. As part of the master plans, a network of creative clusters is being formed in seven cities of the Far East, with total investments in their construction amounting to 4.7 billion rubles. The first such cluster, the Labor Quarter– opened in Yakutsk in 2022. In 2024, the revenue of its residents exceeded 1 billion rubles. By 2030, it is planned to create a network of creative spaces in the macroregion with a total area of at least 100 thousand square meters, including the infrastructure of museums and theaters. Such platforms create conditions for business growth, the emergence of new products and the development of interregional cooperation," said Hasan Hasanbalayev, Deputy General Director for Social Development at the KRDV.
The Sikhote Radar cluster is located at 45 Ensign Komarov Street, Vladivostok. The management company is Ergonomics LLC. The site's infrastructure includes a coworking space for more than 30 workplaces, a lecture hall for 60 people, a media lab, a showroom and a meeting room. More than 30 pieces of equipment are available for the production of promotional and souvenir products, including printing, embroidery and engraving.
Combining specialists in one space allows you to create teams for specific tasks. Customers can request individual services, such as the development of a corporate identity, website, or merchandise, or receive comprehensive solutions. Among the cluster's residents are Advertising Souvenirs, Fenix Cinema, business media Experts DV, Kokovikhin Digital, the Jean Grudachev Agency and the Sergei Zelensky Association.
"The cluster provides an opportunity to work together face-to-face, assemble teams of specialists from different fields and move faster from an idea to the implementation of a project. It is important that residents share their experiences and competencies, work together on tasks and hold regular events. Such interaction helps to better understand the needs of customers, check the relevance of their solutions and find new growth points. The presence of representatives of the KRDV and the Ministry of the Far East Development at the site also creates opportunities for direct dialogue about the tasks and prospects of the region's development," said Jean Grudachev, creator of the Creative Primorye digital platform.
A business incubator is provided in the cluster for aspiring entrepreneurs. Its participants will be helped to work out a business model, prepare a product and find their first customers. Specialists and companies who do not need a permanent workplace on the site will be able to apply for digital residency.
"Representatives of creative industries who have obtained the appropriate status can become residents of the cluster. After checking the documents, you can apply for residency through the cluster's website and choose the appropriate format – face-to-face or digital. A coworking space is provided for freelancers and creative professionals, where they can work, meet with partners and create new products together," explained Yulia Leontieva, Director of the Ergonomics Group of companies.
In the future, the cluster plans to develop inter-regional relations, enter inter-regional and international markets and help exporters in matters of design, packaging and product promotion.
The launch and promotion of the cluster is supported by the Center for Creative Industries of Primorsky Krai. Some of the residents previously participated in the My Business acceleration programs and received assistance in promotion, trademark registration and participation in export business missions.
