Gazpromneft – Bitumen Materials, together with Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU), is launching the second All-Russian student case championship on the development of innovative solutions for the bitumen industry, road and industrial and civil engineering. The Bitumen Master at KNRTU 2.0 competition will be held in March 2025 in an online format.
The participants will have to prepare their own solutions for the use of refined petroleum products in road and industrial and civil construction. One of the conditions of the championship is the use of digital technologies in the work: neural networks, mathematical modeling, virtual and augmented reality, as well as other modern tools. According to the organizers, participation in the case championship is a good opportunity for students to prove themselves, to offer non-standard ideas and approaches that will increase the efficiency of using petroleum products. Ilya Kudryashov, an expert at the Gazpromneft Bitumen Materials Research Center, notes: "This time we have added a second creative part to the task. Students will be able to demonstrate not only their professional competencies and digital tool skills, but also their ingenuity and creativity."
Students from all regions of the country can take part in the case championship. The team should consist of two people. Joining future oil refining specialists in one group with those who study in the field of road or industrial and civil engineering can increase the chances of winning the competition.

It will allow you to develop analytical and creative thinking, increase the skill of using digital technologies to solve real business problems, and also help you learn a lot about the possibilities and prospects of using innovative technologies and materials in construction," says Yuri Kazakov, Rector of KNRTU.
Another pleasant bonus for the prize-winners and winners of the case championship will be an additional 10-20 points upon admission to the KNRTU Master's degree program in partnership with Gazpromneft – Bitumen Materials.

The program of the case championship:
- February 10-23 – registration of participants
- February 25-26 – meeting with participants in online format, educational track (immersion in the subject of the case)
- March 1 – distribution of the Bitumen and Digital Technologies case
- March 10 – acceptance of case solutions (until 24:00 Moscow time)
- March 14 – online case defense before the expert commission
- April 3-4 – awarding ceremony of the winners and prize-winners of the case championship at the XIII intersectoral conference "PRO Bitumen and PBB" in St. Petersburg.
