American Ares Management Corp. It is considering the possibility of acquiring a minority stake in the Danish Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). This is reported by foreign media.

The proposed deal is aimed at expanding the presence of Ares in the renewable energy sector in Europe amid a sharp increase in energy demand and the development of AI infrastructure.

Ares has increased its assets under management to $671 billion due to the demand for alternative lending and real asset investment strategies, demonstrating investors' rejection of traditional direct lending in favor of hard-backed assets.

In recent years, large investment companies have been increasing investments in infrastructure. In particular, BlackRock Inc. acquired Global Infrastructure Partners for $12.5 billion in 2024, and Bridgepoint Group Plc acquired Energy Capital Partners. Infrastructure is becoming increasingly popular among investors due to stable income and resistance to inflationary pressures.

In 2020, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S acquired a 25% stake in CIP, which has raised 43 billion euros ($49.4 billion) since 2012 and manages 15 funds. CIP owns stakes in a wind farm offshore the United States, a wind farm in Spain, and offshore wind turbine projects in Taiwan, Ireland, and the United States.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is a Danish global energy investment company. The company is engaged in financing, construction and operation of renewable energy projects (offshore and onshore wind power, solar and bio-energy). The headquarters is located in Copenhagen (Denmark) with offices in 30 countries.
