Barrick Gold has entered into an agreement with Geophysx Jamaica

Barrick Gold Corporation, through its subsidiary Barrick Gold (International Holdings) Ltd., has entered into an agreement with Geophysx Jamaica Ltd to conduct exploration work in Jamaica. This is reported in a press release from Barrick Gold.

The agreement provides Barrick with access to 4,000 square kilometers of consolidated land with favorable geological conditions comparable to the Dominican Republic, where Barrick operates the Pueblo Viejo mine. 

Barrick will receive an 80% stake in the joint venture and will act as an operator in partnership with Geophysx, using Geophysx's existing staff and equipment.

Geophysx, a private mineral exploration company in Jamaica. Geophysx conducts early-stage geological exploration, including geochemical sampling, geological mapping, and aerial geophysical surveys. The headquarters is located in Kingston (Jamaica).

Barrick Gold Corporation is a Canadian gold and copper mining company. Barrick operates 16 production sites in 13 countries. The company produces minerals in Argentina, Canada, Chile, Ivory Coast, Congo, Dominican Republic, Mali, Papua New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, the United States and Zambia. The headquarters is located in Toronto (Canada).
