British financial conglomerate Barclays Plc intends to resume the Barclays India business after a ten-year hiatus amid a sharp increase in stock sales in India. This is reported in a press release from Barclays.

In 2025, investment banks earned a record $417 million through IPOs in India, taking into account the growing number of listed companies and increased pricing policies.

From the point of view of Barclays management, India is ready to provide large banks with a long-term opportunity to meet customer capital needs through debt obligations and equity.

About 170 companies have received approval from the Indian regulator to conduct an IPO, with another 115 awaiting approval, attracting global banks, including Emirates NBD PJSC and DBS Group Holdings Ltd., to expand their presence in India. At the same time, competition is intensifying, as domestic companies use connections with local investors to obtain permits.

Barclays Plc is one of the world's largest financial conglomerates with extensive presence in Europe, the United States and Asia. Operations are carried out through a subsidiary of Barclays Bank PLC, which is the second largest bank in the UK by assets. The headquarters is located in London (England).
