Chevron Technical Center joined SLB and TotalEnergies as part of a long-term cooperation program The Arena for the development of digital underground technologies. This is reported in a Chevron press release.
Under the agreement, Chevron will provide financing, intellectual property, and technical expertise, including in the areas of uncertainty analysis, optimization, and field development planning based on digital tools and AI. Thus, the number of participants in the Arena project has increased to three.
SLB will be responsible for the development of digital technologies and underground engineering technologies, while TotalEnergies and Chevron will provide technical expertise and application requirements from oil and gas operators.
In July 2024, SLB and TotalEnergies signed a 15-year digital technology cooperation agreement and planned to combine AI capabilities with SLB's Delfi digital platform. Arena aims to develop technologies in the field of field geology and geophysical research, taking into account the development of more complex reservoirs and growing volumes of subsurface data.
Specialized experts from Chevron and TotalEnergies will work in SLB technology centers, which will allow operators to directly use technology development experience and shorten the feedback cycle between product development teams and operators.
SLB, which has a market capitalization of $76.3 billion, is actively developing digital solutions, including the Delfi platform for data analysis, and cooperates with cloud providers Microsoft and AWS.
