The German energy company SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH plans to pay some employees a special "transaction bonus" after the completion of privatization. This is reported in the SEFE press release.

The payment is intended for key employees of the company and will be credited in addition to annual trading and corporate bonuses. The company's privatization as part of one of the largest energy deals in Europe is scheduled for the end of 2028.

The German government owns 100% of SEFE shares and excludes the possibility of placing the company's shares on the stock exchange.

A significant part of SEFE's commercial potential is associated with traders, especially with the London division, which is actively engaged in securing LNG supplies and concluding long-term deals.  Large-scale cuts in the trading division will affect the value of the company before the sale is completed.

Until 2022, the company was a subsidiary of the Russian Gazprom under the name Gazprom Germania GmbH. In April 2022, the company came under the temporary management of the German Federal Grid Agency, followed by nationalization through the EU-approved holding company Securing Energy for Europe Holding GmbH (SEEHG).

According to EU rules, by the end of 2028, the state must reduce its stake in SEFE to 25% plus one share. Previously, the option of merging SEFE with Uniper, which was also nationalized in 2022, was considered, but then this option was rejected due to the complexity of the implementation.

SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH is a German state—owned energy company with headquarters in Berlin (Germany). The company supplies natural gas, electricity, and also develops areas related to "green" technologies, including hydrogen. SEFE serves more than 50,000 customers in seven European countries.
