The Italian pasta manufacturer Barilla has completed the acquisition of the American Goodles for $ 750 million. This is reported in a press release from Barilla.

The deal value is 28 times the amount that Goodles raised in the financing rounds, and provides for additional payments provided targets are met.

After closing the deal, Goodles will continue to operate as an independent brand under the same management while retaining all employees. Springdale Ventures invested $750,000 in Goodles at the initial stage of the company's development and later another $750,000.

Small food startups have helped the industry grow amid demand for healthier products with a simple list of ingredients. According to analysts, in categories such as frozen processed foods, yoghurts, and nut butters, low-processed foods sell better than highly processed foods by 7 percentage points.

Barilla is an Italian manufacturer of pasta, sauces, and baked goods. The headquarters is located in Parma (Italy) with offices in 100 countries and enterprises in Italy, the USA, Turkey, Greece, Mexico, etc.

Goodles is an American brand for the production of macaroni and cheese and sauces based on natural ingredients (broccoli, spinach, cabbage, pumpkin, etc.). The headquarters is located in Santa Cruz, California.
