For the first time, the ESG rating of Russian SEZs will cover the practices of sustainable development of residents. This will be announced on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development, which, together with AKIT, presented an updated methodology for assessing the sustainability of the SEZ.
In the updated rating structure, 101 indicators are distributed among four equivalent areas: environmental, social, management, and a block of sustainable development practices for residents. The weight of each direction in the final assessment is 25%.
AKIT has been compiling this rating since 2023. This year, the number of indicators has been increased from 70 to 101. The object of analysis is now the entire ecosystem of the SEZ, not just the management companies. A key innovation was the appearance of a separate unit for assessing residents' practices.
