MTS PJSC It has launched QR code payments for goods and services in Colombia and Argentina through national instant payment systems. This is stated in the company's message.
QR code payment is available in most retail outlets in these countries to all users of the My MTS application. The company has become the leader in the number of countries in Latin America among Russian fintech services providing payment using local QR codes.
MTS PJSC was the first Russian company to provide users of the My MTS application with the opportunity to pay for purchases using the QR code of the national instant payment system in Colombia, and the option is now available in Argentina, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Latin America. You can pay using My MTS at any point of sale where a QR code is installed at the checkout: supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, hotels.
Both countries use universal QR codes that combine various payment services in the country, which greatly simplifies the process of non-cash payment, which boils down to simple familiar actions: "opened the camera — scanned — paid."
QR code payments in Argentina and Colombia are one of the main everyday cashless payment methods in these countries. Now Russians can make payments using local QR codes directly from ruble accounts with automatic conversion into local currency.
Payment is possible both from subscribers' personal accounts and from Russian bank cards at a favorable rate. All transactions are carried out without commission in Russian rubles, including conversion into Argentine pesos. The conversion rate is set at the time of the transaction. The maximum transaction amount in Colombia is up to 315 thousand rubles, in Argentina — up to 400 thousand rubles. Payments of up to 5,000 rubles are made without SMS confirmation, meaning you can make a purchase even if you don't have a connection.
