Military personnel, as well as military pensioners and their family members who are entitled to free travel, will now be reimbursed for the use of a personal car in certain cases – for example, on business trips or vacations. The decree on this has been signed, the Russian government announced.
Military personnel and military pensioners are entitled to such compensation in accordance with the federal law "On the Status of Military Personnel". But the procedure for compensation of expenses for the use of personal transport was not regulated. So far, military personnel have received it only for traveling by train or plane, providing travel documents as confirmation.
The procedure for reimbursement of expenses for the use of motor transport will be determined directly by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and other federal authorities where military service is provided.
