The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia has allowed banks to set reducing coefficients until December 31, 2026 when determining the amount of credit risk on loans issued to finance projects to ensure the protection of critical infrastructure facilities. This is reported on the regulator's website.

The reduction coefficients are set at 30% for investment-grade borrowers and 50% for other borrowers.

The Central Bank also allowed not to apply macroprudential surcharges on such credit requirements.

Banks will be able to save capital when lending to such projects within the limit provided for projects of technological sovereignty and structural adaptation of the economy (CU and SAE). The free limits in these areas are sufficient for concessional financing of both CU and SAE projects, as well as measures to protect critical infrastructure facilities, the regulator emphasizes.
