By his decree, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation to Vladimir Viktorovich Shchedov, the machinist of the mills of the Mikhailovsky GOK processing plant named after A.V. Varichev (part of Metalloinvest). An employee of the Company received a high title for outstanding labor achievements, high professionalism and long-term conscientious work.

Vladimir Shchedov has been working at the Mikhailovsky GOK for more than 32 years, he started as a machinist of pumping units at a processing plant. Over the years, he has thoroughly studied the ore dressing process and technological equipment.

Working as a mill machinist, Vladimir Viktorovich participates in the concentrate production process, ensures the necessary product quality, saves energy costs, and monitors the serviceable condition of the equipment. Shchedov made a significant contribution to the reconstruction of the factory's facilities and the development of new technologies, in particular, the introduction of dry magnetic separation and the commissioning of the concentrate enrichment site. With his direct participation, technical solutions were found for the manufacture of basic assemblies and parts of ball mills, classifying equipment, allowing to increase its service life and operational reliability.

Vladimir Shchedov is an active innovator. For example, the implementation of his proposal on the manufacture of holes along the perimeter of the flooring in deslamator maintenance sites made it possible to eliminate the accumulation of water and, as a result, corrosion of metal structures. Vladimir Shchedov is also a co-author of ideas for the modernization of ceramic filter sectors of the factory to increase their service life, and a number of other initiatives.

Vladimir Viktorovich is an experienced mentor who teaches newly hired employees and student interns the basics of production. Young specialists who have undergone industrial and social adaptation at the plant under the guidance of Shchedov, show high skills in their work, become leaders in the team.

Vladimir Shchedov says that at one time he chose the profession of an enricher on the advice of his parents. Today, he is sure that this choice was absolutely right.

"The quality of the MGOKA iron ore concentrate depends, among other things, on my work: I control the operation of the mills in the enrichment building, monitor the load so that the concentrate with the planned iron content is obtained at the output," Vladimir Shchedov notes. – I think that if you live in a city of miners, then you should work with dignity, following the example of the pioneers who built the plant."

For responsible work and contribution to the development of the enterprise, Vladimir Viktorovich Shchedov was repeatedly encouraged with Certificates of Honor and Commendations, awarded the medal "For Services to the Fatherland" of the II degree.
