By 2030, the Moscow region plans to increase production by at least 25% compared to the level of 2021, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region reports.

"The Moscow region is implementing a set of measures to increase the volume of crop production. The projected growth will cover key crops: grain production will reach 650 thousand tons, potatoes and vegetables in all categories of farms — 650 and 570 thousand tons, respectively, oilseeds — 103 thousand tons. It is planned to produce 149 thousand tons of products in protected soil vegetable growing by 2030," the press service said.

From 2014 to 2024, the production of greenhouse vegetables increased from 5 to 131 thousand tons. The Moscow Region ranks second in the Russia, growing protected ground vegetables on 233 hectares of greenhouse complexes located in the region.

"There are 274 enterprises operating in the crop industry of the Moscow region — 126 of them grow cereals, 73 farms produce potatoes, 64 produce vegetables. We have provided various support measures, for example, farmers can receive loans at a discounted rate of up to 10.5% for the reconstruction and modernization of greenhouse complexes where vegetables and berries are produced in protected soil," said Sergey Dvoinykh, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.

In addition, investment projects for the construction of greenhouse complexes are being implemented in the region. For example, Ivanisovo Agrocomplex LLC is building a second stage for growing vegetable crops with an area of 15 hectares in the Elektrostal urban district.

The ministry notes that, among other things, the introduction of land into agricultural circulation will contribute to achieving the targets, making it possible to expand the territories for growing crops: 185,711.5 hectares have already been introduced in 5 years. And the introduction of new technologies, for example, a drone designed for agricultural tasks in the fields presented at the Golden Autumn 2025 exhibition, and the Ecovision system, which allows monitoring the condition of plants in greenhouses, will help optimize labor and increase yields. With the integration of innovative technologies and the implementation of investment projects, the Moscow region will achieve its targets.
