From April 17 to 20 in Istanbul (Turkey), the Russian timber holding Segezha Group (MOEX: SGZH) participates in the construction exhibition Yapi – Turkeybuild Istanbul 2024, it is one of the five largest construction exhibitions in the world. About 55 thousand visitors are expected, including representatives of about 10 thousand construction companies from more than 70 countries. The organizers expect that contracts worth about 700 million euros will be signed at the site.

Segezha Group presents its entire product line at the exhibition stand. Samples of kraft paper, lumber, plywood and glued wooden structures of the holding will be demonstrated to Turkish partners. The focus of attention is on the sale of high–grade birch plywood, widely used in the construction industry, the automotive industry, shipbuilding, and the production of passenger rail transport. Local developers are showing increased interest in glued beams and CLT panels made of coniferous wood. They are considered from the point of view of use in projects of multi-storey wooden house construction, individual housing construction, complex development of territories, construction of social infrastructure facilities. The exceptional properties of CLT allow you to confidently build in difficult landscapes, recreational and water protection areas with minimal stress on nature.

All Segezha Group products are carbon–based. Thus, UN experts have proved that in comparison with a house made of ordinary materials (brick, concrete, steel), the "eco-bonus" of a CLT structure is about 500 kg of deposited CO2 per 1 sq. m.

Dmitry Beresnev, Vice President for Commercial Activities of PJSC Segezha Group, comments: "Turkey is our trading partner in a number of commodity items, including lumber. At the same time, sales of our glued wooden products are growing here

structures, as well as monolithic CLT panels. They go to housing and communal services, the construction of recreational complexes, hotels, cafes, restaurants. In Turkey, there is a very long coastline in a mild climate, a lot of objects in close proximity to sea water. Our premium larch products are ideal for such buildings. Its high density withstands the aggressive marine environment – excellent marinas and embankments are made of it. Increased wear resistance also acts as an obvious advantage in the production of floors and parquet, outdoor terraces and decking made of larch. Our company focuses on the export of products of deep processing of wood, therefore, the following conversions after conventional lumber are objectively of greater interest to us, since their marginality is higher. We will hold a number of meetings with representatives of Turkish business in Istanbul. We hope to strengthen existing ties and conclude new contracts, primarily for high-value-added products."
