Volunteers of the Syzran Refinery (part of the Samara group of enterprises of Rosneft Oil Company) planted 2,500 birch seedlings in a specially protected natural area of the Samara region. Actions on mass planting of forests by employees of the Syzran refinery on the territory of local forestry have been organized for four years. During this time, the factory workers planted more than 25 thousand pine and birch seedlings on ten hectares of Racheysky forest, which was damaged by a natural fire in 2010. Artificial planting significantly reduces the period of forest restoration after wildfires, which contributes to the preservation of ecological balance and biological diversity.

Rosneft pays great attention to forest planting activities, contributing to the sustainable development of ecosystems, the conservation of biological diversity, as well as the fight against climate change. Preserving the environment for future generations is an absolute priority of Rosneft's activities. The company implements large-scale environmental programs and holds leadership positions in the field of minimizing environmental impact and environmental friendliness of production.

Birch plays an important role in the preservation of forests after fires and deforestation of coniferous forests. Trees quickly take over the vacant areas, and indigenous tree species are being restored under their canopy.

Environmental volunteering is an integral part of the ongoing environmental projects of Rosneft enterprises. Employees of the company's subsidiaries annually take part in environmental clean-up, tree planting, and environmental protection lessons in educational institutions. The Company's enterprises are implementing the principles of a "green office" aimed at reducing resource consumption, saving heat and electricity, improving the quality of working conditions and the environment. Enterprises have been organizing separate collection of plastic and waste paper for several years, thanks to which dozens of tons of waste were sent for recycling.
