AQNIET has increased its stake in Globaltrans

There have been changes in the structure of Globaltrans shareholders. The investment company AQNIET CAPITAL LLP, registered and doing business in Kazakhstan, notified the company of an increase in its share by 0.5% to 26.69% of the issued share capital of the company. This announcement supplements the previous press release dated January 15, 2024, which contains additional information regarding AQNIET. This is stated in the company's message.

Together with the 5.43% packages, in respect of which binding acquisition agreements have been concluded and notarized powers of attorney have been issued regarding related voting rights ("transactions in progress"), AQNIET currently controls 32.12% of the company's voting shares and will own 32.12% of the issued share capital and the corresponding voting shares of the company after the closing of "transactions in progress", which is expected no later than the second half of 2024.

The beneficial owner of AQNIET is businessman and entrepreneur Kairat Itemgenov, who has successfully developed a number of large businesses in various sectors of the economy in Kazakhstan over the past 25 years. His key businesses include: one of the largest pharmacy chains in Kazakhstan – Europharma, several assets in the hotel sector, the logistics company Satti Logistics, as well as KBI Energy, a large specialized design and installation organization in the energy sector.

Globaltrans Investment PLC is one of the leading groups in the field of freight rail transportation, which operates through its subsidiaries in Russia and the CIS countries. The company was founded in 2004.

Globaltrans' profit for the first half of 2023 increased by 70% to RUB 20.9 billion from RUB 12.3 billion a year earlier. Revenue increased by 7% to 52 billion rubles, adjusted revenue (a key component of revenue) – by 2% to 43.3 billion rubles. Total capital expenditures, taking into account M&A, amounted to 6.1 billion rubles (a decrease of 51%).
