On October 7, French air traffic controllers will begin a four-day strike at the call of the SNCTA trade union. This is reported by foreign media.
The union demands that the French government index salaries to account for inflation and improve working conditions. The strike will last until October 10 inclusive.
The strike will have a greater impact on the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair, which services up to 3.5 thousand planes daily. During the strike, the company will be forced to cancel about 1.8 thousand flights to France and transit flights to the UK, Italy, Spain and Greece.
Other airlines, including easyJet, British Airways, Vueling and Lufthansa, will also cancel flights for the duration of the strike.
From the point of view of Ryanair, "a complete failure in European aviation will lead to potential losses of 20 million pounds." The company's management urges affected passengers to contact the Ministry of Transport and the EU leadership directly to ensure flight protection during strikes.
