The American IT company Intel Corp. signed an agreement to acquire the Israeli startup Classiq Technologies in the field of quantum computers. This is reported in the Intel press release.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but according to analysts, the startup's value is estimated at $2.2 to $2.3 billion. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027.

The deal is aimed at creating a fully functional quantum computing platform by combining the Classiq quantum algorithm synthesis system with Intel spin qubit manufacturing technologies. The goal of the association is to develop a full—fledged business in the field of quantum computing.

The deal, which marks Intel's second acquisition in Israel after the buyout of drone technology developer Mobileye in 2017, will allow Intel to move beyond hardware solutions and offer customers a full range of quantum computing services. Among the main competitors Intel includes AMD, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Samsung, TSMC, Broadcom, Apple and MediaTe.

In 2025, SoftBank Group announced plans to invest $2 billion in Intel to build a large chip manufacturing plant in Ohio.

Classiq has developed a software operating platform compatible with all major types of quantum equipment that simplifies the development and design of complex quantum circuits in the automotive, pharmaceutical, automation, and financial industries for businesses that do not have their own experts in quantum technology.

Classiq is an Israeli developer of software solutions for quantum systems and the implementation of quantum algorithms. The headquarters is located in Tel Aviv (Israel). Classiq's customers include BMW and AT&T.

Intel Corp. is an American technology company and the largest manufacturer of x86 processors. The headquarters is located in Santa Clara, California.
