Italy has seen a 24-hour strike by ITA Airways employees, including flight attendants, pilots and ground staff. This is reported by foreign media with reference to the Italian agency ANSA.
Flight attendants and ground staff from Vueling and Easyjet airlines joined the strike. According to trade unions, 87% of airline employees took part in the protest action, which led to the cancellation of 300 flights.
In addition, employees of the Italian air traffic control center in Rome, ENAV, plan to strike on March 7, 2026, during the Paralympic Games.
Trade unions are demanding an extension of collective agreements and a review of working conditions amid rising passenger traffic at Italian airports and wage cuts due to inflation.
TA Airways is the national airline of Italy. The company is owned by the government through the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as well as partially by the Lufthansa Group (41% of shares). The headquarters is located in Rome (Italy).
