Passenger traffic on the Russian Railways network in the first 9 months of 2025 increased by 1.6% to 976.4 million compared to a year earlier. This is stated in the company's message.
In particular, passenger traffic in the suburban area increased by 1.9% to 878 million, while in the long—distance area it decreased by 0.4% to 98.4 million.
Passenger turnover decreased by 0.9% and amounted to 111.4 billion passenger kilometers.
In September 2025, 113.9 million passengers left Russian Railways train stations, which is 0.5% lower than in the same period of the previous year. Passenger turnover fell by 4% and amounted to 12.6 billion passenger kilometers.
JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.
The net profit of Russian Railways holding in 2024 according to IFRS amounted to 50.7 billion rubles against 170.08 billion rubles a year earlier. The reduction is 70%. The total revenues of the holding increased by 9.2% to RUB 3.29 trillion.
