The Pengerang project aims to meet the growing demand for competitive and affordable solutions for clean energy generation within the framework of decarbonization.
The new biomaterial processing plant is one of PETRONAS' key initiatives to implement its strategy for the transition to clean energy based on biomaterials.
Taking into account the Enilive bio-plants already operating in Italy and the United States, as well as new plants under construction in Italy and South Korea, the new bio-plant in Pengerang is another step towards achieving a production capacity of more than 5 million tons per year by 2030.
Strategically located on the territory of the integrated Pengerang complex in Johor, the bio-plant has geographical advantages and access to major international shipping routes, which will meet the needs for biofuels and effectively serve markets in the Asian region.
